Firefox 6 Aurora Channel and Firefox 7 Nightly Build is Available for Download

Mozilla officially pushed Firefox 6 into Aurora channel and Firefox 7 to Nightly Builds. Aurora channel is meant for the users who want to use the advanced version of Firefox web browser. Aurora channel is a development phase but more stable than the nightly build. Firefox 5 currently is in Beta and will be finalized and offered to end users on 21st June 2011. After releasing final version of Firefox 5, Firefox 6 will be pushed from Aurora to Beta, and Firefox 7 will move to Aurora, which is currently in Nightly.

Firefox 6 Aurora Features

Data Management Window is an experimental feature that provides control over the the access that specific websites have to your browsing data, including cookies, passwords and location information
Add-ons Manager with Plugin Check quickly verifies the compatibility of installed plug-ins directly from the Add-ons Manager

HTML5 Toggle: Firefox Add-on to Enable and Disable HTML5 in Firefox 4

HTML5 is the latest version of HTML, which is a core technology of internet and used to structure and present content for the World Wide Web. HTML5 is under development and some websites does not support it. To access these websites, you have to disable HTML5. Here we will discus about a Firefox add-on which will allow you to disable and enable HTML5 support in a singe click. This add-on is meant for Firefox 4.

After installing HTML5 Toggle, you can use it from tools to enable or disable HTML5 or, you can add the HTML5 Toggle button to a toolbar. The HTML5 Toggle button is not added by default to any tool bar, to add the button you have to go to View >> Toolbars >> Customize >> drag the button to your desired location on the browser. Now you can easily disable or enable HTML5 in Firefox 4 by clicking on the button.

If any website will not support HTML 5, you can disable it temporarily by clicking on the button and again continue with HTML5 by enabling it.

Disabling Offline Mode in Mozilla Firefox

Like some other browsers Mozilla Firefox enters in the offline mode, whenever you try to open it without having internet connection. When Internet connections is available Firefox should switch to online mode, but it always does not switch to the online mode automatically. Sometimes it is really annoying specially when you are browsing the web on a Wi-Fi connection or changing your internet preferences from Wireless to LAN. You can fix this problem permanently by disabling the off line mode. To disable the offline mode in Firefox, you can follow the below steps.

Disable Offline Mode in Mozilla Firefox

Start Mozilla Firefox browser
Type about:config in the location bar and press Enter
Firefox will show a warning, click on the button labeled as I’ll be careful I promise

You can see a list of Firefox preferences and settings. Right-click anywhere on it and choose New >> Boolean

Enter a name as network-manage-offline-status and set it’s value to False

From now Firefox will not enter in Offline mode when it encounters a change or break in your internet connection.
